Flatland Futures Young Persons Banner Commission

September 2025 - September 2026

“I want to share a message of action - there are many terrible things going on around us, and we’re plugged into the news via social media like never before. It’s easy to feel like there’s nothing we can do except watch and wait for someone ‘more qualified’ to step in. But we all have a role in making the world a better place, and a responsibility to ourselves and one another to do what we can. If one person sees this artwork and is inspired to make a £5 donation to a charity they care about, it will have served its purpose.” - Adrian Cox

Adrian Cox (he/they) is an artist based in Hastings. His work crosses mediums and genres, but grounds itself in themes of folklore, mythology and nature. Founder and editor of Teiresian, a micro press centring trans creatives, Adrian is passionate about trans voices and stories and how they connect to the natural world.

This public realm commission has been generously supported by Arts Council England, Rother District Council, and Talent Accelerator and launches to the public on the occasion of the inaugural Bexhill Art Weekender, the first dedicated contemporary art festival in the town.
