Flatland Projects is delighted to announce a series of 6 life drawing sessions taught by British artist Lucy Evetts. Lucy (b.1989, Gloucestershire) lives and works in Kent. Lucy graduated from the Royal Academy Schools, London, UK in 2018. In 2024 Lucy Evetts had her first institutional solo exhibition at Flatland Projects titled ‘The Voice Inside My Head’ explored a sense of flux, through a series of contrasts and juxtapositions that populated the gallery.

We are excited to offer this unique opportunity to bring members of our community together to explore new techniques and approaches to life drawing in a supportive environment. This opportunity is aimed at a wide specturm of participants, ranging from professional artists, art students, and members of our community who have never attended life drawing before.

Flatland Projects is a fully accessible, flat access site with accessible toilets. We have 4 gender neutral toilets on site with a relaxing welcome area with seating if you require a quiet place. These sessions will take place whilst the gallery is closed to account for a relaxed and comfortable environment for all.

Lucy Evetts is a highly accomplished artist with a proven track record with teaching life drawing she has taught in both education and arts institutional settings. Lucy also uses accredited models from the Register of Artist's Models. Observational figurative drawing and painting underpin her studio practise. During these life drawing classes we will focus on learning how to draw the figure as well as exploring the relationship between observational drawing and looking, through different approaches to mark making and drawings techniques, learning how to create volume, proportions and tonal range.

A small selection of materials will be available, we reccomend that you bring your preferred drawing materials, A2 & A3 paper will be available for the class. A1 drawing boards will be provided.
